On July 30, Xiangtan Semi-Annual Foreign Trade Work Scheduling Meeting was hosted by Xiangtan Bureau of Commerce in Comprehensive Bonded Zone of Xiangtan. Semi-annual foreign trade work of Xiangtan City, various counties (cities), districts and zones was reported at the meeting. Relevant leading officials of Shaoshan Customs District, Shaoshan Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, Xiangtan Municipal Office, SAT and Xiangtan Center Branch of State Administration of Foreign Exchange made suggestions for the development of Xiangtan foreign trade.
The meeting was presided over by Huang Jiaquan, Labor Union Chairman of Xiangtan Bureau of Commerce. First, Cai Deqiang, Deputy Director of Management Committee of Comprehensive Bonded Zone of Xiangtan, expressed warm welcome to the Foreign Trade Work Scheduling Meeting in Comprehensive Bonded Zone of Xiangtan for the first time and hoped to look for foreign trade breakthrough point to promote economic development of Xiangtan City under the situation of tightening macroeconomic environment through this meeting.
At the meeting, leading officials of Foreign Trade Division of Xiangtan Bureau of Commerce summarized and analyzed the import and export situations of Xiangtan City in January-June, leading officials from business (investment promotion) departments of various counties (cities), districts and zones reported respective semi-annual foreign trade work situation, and analyzed foreign trade work situation in the first half of this year.
After listening to the report of Xiangtan City, counties (cities), districts and zones, relevant leading officials of Shaoshan Customs District, Shaoshan Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, Xiangtan Municipal Office, SAT and Xiangtan Center Branch of State Administration of Foreign Exchange analyzed the problems currently existing in Xiangtan, and made suggestions for the development of Xiangtan foreign trade. Li Yu, Deputy Commissioner of Shaoshan Customs District and Xiao He, Deputy Director General of Shaoshan Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau simultaneously pointed out that customs district and inspection department are both supervision and service departments, which will provide customs clearance, inspection and quarantine services for export-oriented enterprises. They suggested the building of municipal foreign trade import and export service platform, better guiding and serving the development of export-oriented enterprises. Peng Jianming, Deputy Director General of Xiangtan Municipal Office, SAT, said that export tax rebate is an important part of import and export business, Xiangtan Municipal Office, SAT will do a good job in this aspect for enterprises, further shorten the period of tax rebate, and alleviate the fund pressure of enterprises. Liu Bibo, Deputy Director General of Xiangtan Center Branch of State Administration of Foreign Exchange, said that foreign exchange departments will actively do a good job in foreign exchange policy publicity, support eligible foreign trade enterprises in carrying out overseas financing business and practically reduce the operating cost of foreign trade enterprises.
Finally, Huang Jiaquan pointed out that all counties (cities), districts and zones should make efforts to overcome present difficulties, steadfastly complete foreign trade scheduling and foreign trade enterprise service work, strengthen the coordination and correlation with customs, inspection, tax and foreign exchange departments, Xiangtan Bureau of Commerce will also try best to provide support and services for foreign trade enterprises to ensure the completion of Xiangtan annual foreign trade import and export targets and tasks.
