Xiangtan Economic Development Zone and CBZ are located in the core areas of Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan, which are the most developed cities in Hunan Province. Xiangtan Economic Development Zone and CBZ, alone with Xiangjiang New District, Ningxiang Economic Development Zone, Changsha High-tech Zone, Wangcheng Economic Development Zone and other state-level new parks on the west bank of Xiangjiang River, form the “Economic Corridor on the West Bank of Xiangjiang River”, enjoying unique geographical and transportation advantages.
The Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway and Shanghai-Ruili Expressway, major arteries running from north to south and east to west, interconnect around the CBZ. Changsha-Xiangtan West Expressway, Tanzhou Avenue and Binjiang Avenue connect the CBZ with Changsha, the provincial capital of Hunan seamlessly. The Hong Kong-Hunan Direct Train transports goods between Xiangtan and Hong Kong. The Hunan-Guizhou Railway and Shimen-Changsha Railway run through the CBZ. Xiangtan North Station of Shanghai-Kunming High-speed Railway is located in Jiuhua, forming a five-hour economic circle covering major cities in China such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. Xiangtan CBZ is only 40 minutes’ drive from “Hunan-Europe Express”, the first international railway freight train directly leading to Europe in Hunan, with the main line leading to Duisburg, Germany, and the auxiliary line to Moscow, Russia and Uzbekistan. It takes 18 days from Hunan to the destination. In terms of water transport, Jiuhua’s Hexi Central Port plans to build 10 thousand-ton berths, which can reach major cities along the Yangtze River all year round. Xiangtan CBZ is only 40 minutes’ drive from Changsha Huanghua International Airport which opens 158 flights to 118 large and medium-sized cities, including 17 non-stop flights to Frankfurt, Germany, Washington, USA and other cities.
